I made it to the first leg of my journey!
After two days of frantic packing for four months (much thanks to my patient parents :), I finally made it to Phoenix for orientation. Today it reached a broiling 106 degrees here, so I'm looking forward to slightly cooler weather in Uganda.
Tomorrow it's more orientation and then we'll be off. We will fly from Phoenix to LA to DC to Addis Abba, Ethiopia to Etebbe, Uganda. If all goes well, we'll be in Uganda by Saturday afternoon.
Time for sleep before the many hours of travel. More to come...
